The independent review of children’s social care

An independent review of the needs, experiences and outcomes of the children supported by social care in the United Kingdom. The review launched in March 2021. It prioritised hearing the voices of children, young people and adults that have received the help or support of a social worker, or who have been looked after.

On the day of the final report’s publication, the government set out the actions it is taking to improve children’s social care and its plans to publish an implementation strategy on children’s social care in autumn 2022.

In June 2021, the review published its interim report: ‘Case for change’.
