A Toolkit was developed for the Europe and Eurasia Bureau of the United States Agency for International Development. It provides the user with a comprehensive assessment framework for analyzing current systems, procedures, and practices against international standards and professional case management practices at both the case level and system level

This framework has been developed with the aim of providing standard procedures, assessment and planning tools, and guidance in the delivery of case management services. As Malawi moves forward to build a holistic child protection system, case management will serve as a core anchor and a mobilizing force for child protection.

Community case managers extend health care and treatment to hard-to-reach areas with poor access in order to improve deliver life-saving treatments and provide prompt care. Trained and supervised community health workers linked to health services provide this care. Integrated community case management is delivered through a coalition of multiple stakeholders, including the social service workforce.

This series of tools and resources developed over five years has proven effective in strengthening the OVC response in Lesotho.

This document provides a general framework of agreed principles, considerations, steps and procedures for effective child protection case management in line with the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action. The guidance is also relevant for non-humanitarian settings.

This discussion paper puts forward a set of lessons learned and recommendations for referral mechanisms and case management for vulnerable children in the Eastern and Southern Africa region (ESAR). This paper concludes a regional study that reviewed regional knowledge, understandings and practice with respect to referral mechanisms and case management – exploring what they mean and do at present and what their future potential may be in responding to the multiple risks and needs of vulnerable children.
